Beijing began accelerating its unwinding U.S. assets around 2022, reducing its exposure to Dollar assets amid rising U.S.-China tensions and fears of sanctions or asset freezes.
As America’s largest foreign creditor for years, China’s pullback removes a major buyer of U.S. debt. That can push Treasury yields higher, raising borrowing costs for the U.S. government, mortgages, and businesses.

The U.S. 30 year and 2 year yield have both broken out. This is the nightmare scenario we saw in 1968 and 1974 where the economy entered a recession, the market turn downward while yields doubled. Not a good way for Kevin Warsh to begin his Federal Reserve term.

so here's what's needed for the act to become law:
1. committee merger
now that the senate banking committee has advanced the clarity act, it must be merged with the senate ag's framework (the committee that oversees the cftc).
2. senate floor vote
the combined bill must go to the full senate floor (needs 60 votes to pass).
3. house-senate reconciliation
because the senate has amended / expanded the bill significantly from the version the house passed in july 2025, the house and senate must settle on and vote to approve a single identical version.
4. presidential signature
once the house and senate approve the final text, the president must sign it into law.

Retail costs for these same hearing aids is roughly $1,400
Gavin Newsom pushed lawmakers toward a state-run program instead of requiring private insurers to cover the pediatric hearing aids
If the retail cost is $1,400 and the state only provided 300, then that’s a cost of $420,000
Yet Gavin Newsom spent $23,000,000
I actually looked into where this money allegedly went, and officially it went to “administrative and overhead costs” instead of providing hearing aids
