ALGORAND IS DOWN ‼️⚠️ Algorand stopped producing blocks at 04:20am EST 1/4/24, devs are currently trying to resolve the issue. Algorand joins the likes of Solana and Arbitrium in having a half arsed blockchain that's not fit for purpose. Nodes are expected to come back online after April 1st.

@Edsontoast i agree, it looks like its meant to create fake volume under the idea that such volume might attract outside interest and investment. it’s just theater.

So to win the foundation NFT rewards you have to mint a new collection or promise the winnings to your holders to wash trade your existing collection for you. I guess it does boost volume but neither of these things it incentivizes help long term if rewards end. Thoughts?

@cj_koay I think AF should've just shelled out at the time of the myalgo hack and made everyone whole, even though it wasn't actually their fault. It would've done a lot more for the Eco's survival and cost a lot less than they're spending quarterly now on marketplace lifelines

@Edsontoast Everybody wants their bags to pamp and be pampered. Long term survivability has been sacrificed to the crypto gods.

@cj_koay There are other ways to onboard users if that's what they want but I feel like they just did it to appease the mob. Need a new strat because it's not really working and it's causing arguments and negativity

@Edsontoast Not too different than defi rewards. They’re nice but it’s just being milked and not accomplishing anything that furthers Algorand as a blockchain. Give it to projects who are delivering or have potential to push our impact to new levels
