If you’re ever looking for the perfect place to stay while in the Bemidji, Minnesota area, be sure to keep RUTTGER’S BIRCHMONT LODGE at the top of your list! My Mermaid and I had the opportunity to sleep 🛌, eat 🍽️ and film 🎬🎥 there during our most recent visit, while doing a story with the “Minnesota Bound” TV Show.
As you drive onto the property, you are welcomed by VERY well-maintained lawn and landscaping. The trees 🌳 and flowers 🌹🌷🌺 were BEAUTIFUL and everything was CLEAN! As you enter the main lodge, you just may be greeted by one of their two furry friends OR you may see them just relaxing on the floor. 😴 We heard that they even like to use the paddle board! 😎🌊💦
Right where you check in at the front desk (with the kind ladies), you can buy clothing and other nice Ruttger’s merchandise. Christie B bought herself a comfy yellow sweater! 😁👍 There’s a large, comfortable lounge and gaming area there too for you to enjoy.
They have a great restaurant on the East side of that and a relaxing bar on the West side. If you walk up the stairs a level, you can relax on their rooftop bar and even order food! It was a popular hangout spot on those hot days we were there. 😎🍹🍻
Our room (200) was MORE than what we expected and it even had a private entry, along with a normal hall entry. Everything was CLEAN and it had everything we needed to relax, clean up and get some much-needed rest! 😴🛌

Karrie (the owner) made sure our stay was the BEST and made us feel like family. I don’t know how many miles she walks a day, but she was EVERYWHERE, making sure everyone was enjoying their stay! Now that’s dedication!
If you love swimming 🏊, they have plenty of activities at their beach for you and your family to enjoy. They have water obstacles, docks and even other activities to do. Just visit the beach house and someone will assist you! I will warn you in advance though… you will see HUGE leeches swimming in Lake Bemidji and chilling on the bottom, BUT(!) they are harmless and they’re really fun to catch (and maybe even throw on your loved one 🤭). For real though… they’re MINNESOTA NICE! 😁❤️👍
