We’re so lucky to have the G12s take us through the DP Art Exhibition as inspiration for our PYPx creations! Moving from literal to abstract #bislearns
G5 student interviewing an expert for PYPx 1,600km away. Thankful for people gifting their time to learning and online meetings that makes it possible. Here’s to stretching our thinking! #BISlearns
An oldie but a goodie… the G5s created a mosaic with their initials and all tiles had to be connected in the design. What a great transdisciplinary activity to build a learning community. Go team! #BISlearns
This week we paused. The Compass Points thinking routine helped the G5s to reflect on what they are worried about. Real. Big. Issues. We will now focus on our needs and plan for more excitement in our classroom, or pazazz as they call it. Bring it on! #BISlearns
During a literature circle meeting this week, the G5s surprised me when they took the initiative to do an activity we did before the winter holiday to practise active listening. One cube = one connection. Build those towers! #BISlearns
Sports and outdoor learning builds confidence, friendships and supports a child’s overall development. It is also fun to connect with our students outside the classroom. Thank you BIS for a great skiing programme. #BISlearns
Start, stop, continue… This week I decided that I will start something that I stopped - giving students full agency of the classroom design again. Unleash those interior designers! #BISlearns
Stop-start-continue… we will definitely continue to practise peer coaching and active listening. Ss have already showed an increase in empathy, respect and appreciation of each other. #BISlearns
Trust isn't formed in meeting rooms or on conference calls; it's built when we're able to connect on a personal level outside our normal work obligations. It's crucial that we create spaces, virtual or in person, that are dedicated to simply spending time together.
Schooling disrupted by the pandemic has changed how we measure success in schools ❤️the shift to trust-based professionalism instead of test-based accountability. Thank you @pasi_sahlberg#toddle_edu#ToddleTIES
