BDS stands for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions – an extremist campaign to isolate the world’s only Jewish state by punishing anyone connected to it. In practice, that doesn’t just target Jewish businesses and institutions. It targets Jewish families. Jewish children. At End Jew Hatred’s protest against BDS in New York City, Michelle Ahdoot made clear what too many people try to deny: campaigns that target Jews, Jewish identity, Jewish community, or Israel are not justice. They are hate. The only BDS we support? Buy. Defend. Support. Buy from Jewish businesses. Defend the Jewish people. Support Israel. Jew-hatred does not become progressive when dressed up as activism. Discrimination does not become justice because it is marketed as a boycott. Combating Jew-hatred starts with showing up, speaking out, and standing together.
