RIP and respect to Dennis Condrey who I just found out as I woke up this morning has passed away. My goodness. What can I possibly say? I first saw Dennis I'm sure in a TV match in the early 1970s in Gulas-Welch Wrestling, but when I really became a fan was in his amazing tag team with Phil Hickerson, With a lack of great film footage of them, it's so hard to describe to you how good they were. Once that team ran its course in the late 70s, Dennis resurfaced again in the Original Midnight Express with Randy Rhodes and Norvell Austin, maybe a year or so before Bill Watts made The Freebirds a 3-man team. Going back and forth between Tennessee and Pensacola, the Original Midnight were a pleasure to watch. Of course, I dont need to say anything about the team most people are familar with The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette and Bobby Eaton. Dennis was a living and breathing example of what Southern tag team wrestling was all about and I am so thankful we have the culmination of all those years with Hickerson, Rose & Austion on video with Bobby & JIm's performance. Thank you and RIP Dennis, you helped make this Southern boy love wrestling and I can't thank you enoiugh. Prayers for the Condrey family for peace and comfort during this difficult and hurtful time.

RIP the great Dennis Condrey: When I think of this business as a craft, Dennis Condrey is as good as any craftsmen professional wrestling ever had. For me, pro wrestling is at it's best when it's a combination of technical skill, perfect timing and rugged, believable aggression; Dennis Condrey embodied that combination flawlessly. I can (and do) watch classic Midnight Express matches over and over again, and appreciate something I didn't notice before every time I watch it. Nuances, details, absolute commitment to making the opponent with selling. A PHD in Pro Wrestling is available for free by watching this man work. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to meet and spend some time with Dennis Condrey and the other members of the Midnights at various times over the years and let them know their contributions are deeply appreciated. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and teammates today. We bid farewell to a genuine master.
