Rothbard and his books are amazingly eye opening. I read 'For a new liberty' (goodreads.com/book/show/1268…) in the space of a just a few days when I was 29, it was so radical, yet completely logical, that I couldn't put it down. Realising that you're in control of your destiny changes so much. You're no longer hoping for a government to save you when you understand the logical and economic fallacies (the left and the right are the same from a liberty standpoint) and you know that you can improve the world and the lives of others through business (either your own, or by helping other businesses) by providing better services and products at competitive prices. I'm now in my forties with a happy (and growing) family, I don't bother getting caught up in politics although I do follow the happenings out of curiosity and to understand how policies will affect me and my family. I also don't watch the news (I'm horrified whenever I'm exposed to it) and I just focus on peacefully raising my kids and professionally providing valuable services to others to help them make money, reduce costs and better serve their customers - in return I'm rewarded quite well for it (top 1% of earners in the UK). Overall I'm supremely happier for it and thankful to Rothbard.

The reality is that there's so many workers and so few jobs, that people are willing to work for basically anything.

That's why laws are very different across states, they're independent, but united by a federal government. France is the one state, their regions cannot create laws.

An individual can't negotiate when the outcome of walking away is death. Collective bargaining is a solution & still consistent with a free-market system. How low would the price of insulin go if there was a tender to provide a 5yr supply for all 1.25M ppl with t1 diabetes?
