Don’t use your first payout to buy new prop firm account, especially if the payout is small. Let me tell you why, with my own story: Dated back to 8th of July, 2025, I made my first ever prop payout of $435 on my 5k Maven account. I immediately bought myself two 20k accounts. However, things didn’t go well and I blew the 5k funded account together with the two 20k evaluation accounts I just bought. It was hard for me to accept, so I had to double down on new evaluations. I bought another 20k account. But guess what? I blew it again. Let me cut the story short and go straight to what you might need to know: 1. Your first payout should reward you for your months/years of hard work 2. Use part of it to get things you need to upgrade your trading journey 3. If you go on a losing streak, you’ll blow both your funded account and your new evaluation account. 4. If number 3 happens to you, it might be hard for you to get back to your feet. 5. Well… if you scale immediately and things go well, you’d secure more funds. For me, I’d say: Instead of buying a new evaluation right away, keep the money as a plan B — should you blow your funded account, you’d have enough to go again. However, I’m of the believe that there’s no single best approach. Just make sure the decision you make is what you would be able to bear the consequences either positive or negative.
