Jaylen Brown is a great player. A great player. Fans just need slightly more right now.
I need to rewatch game tape, to know if Brown's right or not, but what I do know is: fans don't want to hear this the day after losing a G7 as the higher seed. They need accountability. They need ownership of what happened. They need to know you appreciate the gravity and can and will bounce back.
Then, and only then, can you start diving into who else is to blame and what outside factors might have played a role.
(And maybe he did take ownership elsewhere in the stream, but I haven't seen it clipped anywhere yet.)

the fundamental issue with Jaylen Brown's scoring process is that it's purely contingent on whether the ball goes in and it really does nothing to bend defenses in any meaningful way; the ball did go in a few times in the 4th to make it look like JB was dragging the Celtics back into the game but it was about as good as it got
for essentially the entirety of the game, Sixers were happy to drop super deep and guard JB 1-on-1, there was no need to gap, the wing defenders could just stick to the shooters and if the ball goes in, well, you just kind of move on because it happens from time to time. For this process to work out in your favour JB would probably need to be closer to 70% ts, 55% just ain't it
that's basically creating two parallel offensive processes, it's detrimental for Boston in most situations, except for maybe when JB gets switched onto Maxey

It’s time for the Celtics to re-think their offensive structure.
Teams of their caliber aren’t supposed to have a floor this low. They’re shooting 40-50 3s a game, oftentimes with zero penetration, and hoping that they get “lucky” with the timing of their hot shooting nights.
26.5% from 3 in Game 7, after shooting 29.3% in Game 6 and 28.2% in Game 5.
Same exact thing happened in Games 1 & 2 against New York last year to go down 0-2, and in Games 1-3 against Miami in 2023 to go down 0-3.
Contenders aren’t supposed to be reliant on whether or not one type of shot is falling.
