Yet again, the UK government has failed to prioritise mental health. And broken its promise to thousands of people. With the mental health bill not included in the #KingsSpeech, it’s now highly unlikely the Mental Health Act will be reformed before the next general election. 1/7

Today is the #KingsSpeech – the UK gov uses this speech to highlight its priorities for the next year. We’ve been urging @rishisunak to include the mental health bill - which would see reforms to the outdated Mental Health Act. We’ll be watching at 11am to see whether it is 👀

Who says men aren’t interested in Menopause? After watching the documentary Our Menopause they had open honest conversations, asked questions, shared stories and then purchased the book Black and Menopausal. Knowledge is Power youandmenopause.org

Socioeconomic factors, cultural beliefs, and language barriers can influence healthcare seeking behaviours and access to appropriate care, which may contribute to differences in #perimenopause #menopause experiences - this needs to be acknowledged.

‘As black women, we weren’t seeing ourselves represented’ Black experiences of the #menopause haven't been visible, valued or included in the mainstream. So says Yansie Rolston @EfficacyEVA, who spoke to @bbcnuala about changing the narrative with new book, Black & Menopausal ⬇️

The more we get to know about menopause & hormones, the more we realise how little we really understand about complexity of the change. We have done well over the years to figure out many physiological changes that happen at menopause but there remain many unanswered questions.
