@DrKarlynB Why do you think he followed that up by saying: “God bless the great Iranian people!” Is it possible that you are deliberately misconstruing the meaning behind his message?

If you think that President Trump is about to kill 90 million Iranians, you are probably mentally retarded. That is all.

Why do people keep calling the current state of college athletics "unsustainable?" The product is better, and more people are watching. What about college sports is unsustainable?

@Efizzle91 @RockChalkBlog It is not all money Most teams can pay the asking price Why do they choose 1 team over another I’d say culture and development is more important then just money - Yes players want what the market sets their value at - but any team can give them that

It feels purposeless to spend time and resources analyzing and discussing a basketball team for a year, just for the entire roster to leave and reset every April. Year after year. I have no idea how you fix it, but college sports is broken. This much turnover is unsustainable.

Built a multi billion dollar industry on unpaid labor (college athletes). Now paying them is unsustainable? That is not a system problem, that is accountability. It’s not about economics it’s about control. The only thing unsustainable is a model built on uncompensated labor.

Thankful that @JayBilas addressed this on College GameDay. Suddenly college sports need “saving” because college athletes are being paid and can transfer. Suddenly the NCAA needs antitrust protection. Odd. For decades, while everyone ate off the backs of college athletes, nobody sought federal regulation. Nobody sought an antitrust exemption. The urgency to lobby Congress to "save college sports" only came to be once the college athletes started getting paid. Let that sink in.

What I find interesting about the Newsoms is that they both relentlessly promote liberal/left ideologies that are corrosive to family formation and undermine traditional values. However, at the same time, they've been in a heterosexual marriage for 20+ years and have 4 children together. By those measures, they are more "trad" in terms of their own lifestyle than most Americans are, even a lot of conservatives aren't married with 4 kids. So what that tells me is the Newsoms KNOW that the traditional family model is the best; that's why they chose it when they both could've chosen anything else. But as elites they still promote insidious ideologies that end up harming the ordinary people who listen to them. It's a perfect illustration of "luxury beliefs."

@Matt62167034 @jjhawk84 @KentSterling Why should one group of students be held to a different standard? Why are they obligated to remain at school when others aren’t? Also, students receiving a full academic scholarship with grants also transfer.

@RockChalkBlog Which is how markets work It will slow down once coaches and administration find out what drives players to transfer and address it Retention is often difficult without contracts… Maybe ask the players what’s driving them to the portal - I can guarantee it ain’t all money

@tybuttrey_ Ty, it’s the 2nd time he got hit in the series. Two days earlier he got drilled in the head in his first home AB of the season. By Bryan Woo no less, who missed up & in on the pitch before. And yes, that’s the same Woo who had the 3rd best K to BB ratio in MLB last year.
