I was pleased to read the recent joint statement issued by Prime Minister @MarkJCarney and President @alexstubb reaffirming the strong and growing relationship between Canada and Finland. The statement highlights cooperation in Arctic and maritime security, defence, advanced technology, AI, quantum innovation, and trade—areas of increasing importance to both nations. As Honorary Consul for Finland in Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories, I am encouraged to see this continued momentum in Canada-Finland relations and the shared commitment to innovation, resilience, and values-based partnership. There are significant opportunities ahead for business, research, northern development, and cross-border collaboration between our countries. #Finland #Canada #Saskatchewan #NorthwestTerritories #Innovation #Trade #Diplomacy presidentti.fi/en/joint-state…

Finland is a global leader in quantum computing. This is great news for Saskatchewan and Canada and will inevitably lead to a deepening of the technical ties with Finland. Many thanks to Prime Minister Carney and the Government of Canada for funding $2,000,000 for this important piece of technology and the Government of Saskatchewan providing a much smaller amount of only $400,000.
Scott Moe@PremierScottMoe

Saskatchewan will be at the leading edge of a technology that is reshaping how quickly we can solve complex challenges. The University of Saskatchewan will have Canada’s first university-owned, full-stack quantum computer to the University of Saskatchewan—supporting cutting-edge research, training the next generation, and accelerating breakthroughs in agriculture, health, energy and more. This is how we grow our economy, strengthen our research capacity, and keep Saskatchewan at the forefront of global innovation.

I recently recorded a @SaskTalks podcast episode with Chanelle Chalazan — a young Saskatchewan entrepreneur who is already building her own business while most people her age are just starting to try to figure out what career they might want to do. What stood out to me most was not just the business itself, but the confidence, work ethic, and willingness to step forward and take risks at a young age. We need more of that in Saskatchewan. And we especially need to support it when we see it in young women. For a long time, leadership in business, agriculture, law, construction, and politics in this province has been male-dominated. That is changing — but it only changes when young women are encouraged early, taken seriously, and given real opportunities to lead. That means: - listening to their ideas, - backing their ambitions, - and not assuming they need to wait their turn. Some of the strongest leaders I know in urban and rural Saskatchewan today are women who started young, worked hard, and refused to be told they couldn’t do something. If you have daughters, students, employees, or young people in your community — support these women. Confidence grows when someone believes in you. And sometimes all it takes is one person saying: “You can do this. Go for it.” Episodes like this remind me that the future of Saskatchewan is in good hands. #Saskatchewan #Leadership #WomenInBusiness #Entrepreneurship #Mentorship #SaskTalks

Fully customized, legal industry–specific chatbots like FloLaw’s Brad—embedded directly in smartphone apps—are the future of responsible 24/7/365 basic legal support for clients. The risk with using general-purpose tools like ChatGPT is that they can produce polished legal language that sounds authoritative, even when it is incomplete, non-compliant, or wrong for your jurisdiction. In law, that false confidence is dangerous—and can create real legal and financial exposure. FloLaw’s Brad is different. He is trained by qualified lawyers, operates within clearly defined limits, provides plain-English legal guidance, and knows when to direct users to a real lawyer. Curious? Test the difference at flolaw.ca. Brad is free to use with installation of the FloLaw app and registration.

Brad here. I'm FloLaw's in-house legal chatbot trained by qualified lawyers. See my response below vs. ChatGPT's to the same query. My response mitigates risk, but ChatGPT's creates additional risk by creating a non-compliant contract intended to be used by a non-lawyer.

Brad, the newly recruited in-house legal chatbot at FloLaw.ca has been under development for a long time and I am happy to finally introduce him to the world. Brad has been trained by some of the best real-world fully qualified lawyers I know using hundreds of carefully vetted legal questions and answers designed to reflect how lawyers actually analyze and answer legal problems. That legal training is backed by Google Gemini, one of the world’s leading large language models (LLMs), allowing Brad to deliver clear, structured legal answers at scale. Like real lawyers, Brad doesn’t dabble. If a question isn’t a legitimate legal issue he can answer, he won’t guess — he will direct you to a qualified human lawyer. Building Brad this way has produced something genuinely powerful. I’ve been refining and testing Brad for months now. At this point, I can’t stump him. Can you?

The response to Procido LLP’s webinar to explore the possibility of a class action lawsuit against the Government of Saskatchewan for negligence related to the wildfires in the North has been heartbreaking and overwhelming. The wildfires in Northern Saskatchewan are having a devasting economic impact on business: - active gold mining companies have had to evacuate most workers and suspend mining operations; - hunting and fishing outfitters suspended operations; - retail businesses selling consumer goods burned; - trucking companies suspended operations; - outfitters had their operations burned to the ground; - harvesting of forest was discontinued as access was limited and forest resources destroyed; - copper-zinc-gold-silver exploration/development companies had to evacuate hundreds of workers and suspend exploration and development operations; - airline companies cancelled flights for workers as airports closed; - harvesting of forest resources such as berries, fish, and mushrooms for commercial purposes was suspended or eliminated; - public communication, electricity distribution and transmission, and highway infrastructure necessary for business was lost; - cabin and resort owners had bookings cancelled as recreational areas were decimated. On June 16, when fires still raged on and damage and loss continued, Keith Willoughby, Dean of Edwards School of Business at the University of Saskatchewan estimated the total costs of the fires to already be at $500,000,000.00. The final number will very likely be in the billions. The additional health care costs due to the smoke remain unclear as does the financial cost to the environment due to the massive release of C02 into the atmosphere. The economic impact will be felt across the entire province and beyond. If your business has been impacted by the wildfires in Northern Saskatchewan, register now for a live webinar on July 7, 2025 at 10:00am CST by law firm Procido LLP. procido.com/2025/06/26/nor…

Make your vote today count Saskatoon West. Let's send an MP to Ottawa to join Prime Minister Carney's majority government - not an opposition or third-party backbencher with no real power to fight for Saskatoon West. #SaskatoonWest #ChadForChange

Today is election day. Tonight there will be no doubt in the minds of Canadians that their choice of candidate is confidential, the vote was free and fair, and that the loser of the election will peacefully accept the voters' decision. Don't take what we have built in Canada for granted. Get out and vote for a strong and democratic Canada.
