Happy birthday to Hive!
the people who own, use, build and grow the Hive blockchain chose freedom and decentralization on this day six years ago.
in that time, Hive has become the first fork of any blockchain to outperform and outgrow it's legacy from inception. We faced the largest 51% attack in crypto history via a corporate ownership codebase with hefty team pre-mine allocation, and we showed the world the power of governance and resilience by creating Hive.
All of crypto rooted for us... and we proved you right,
because we're. still. here.
That's where we come from, and it matters, because it's a huge part of where we're going.
Hive is so much bigger than our origin story that it has faded into blockchain lore, but if you don't know us yet (or needed a reminder) it shows "why Hive?" when hundreds of thousands of other cryptos have faded or exploded. It reminds us in these rough markets why creating a blockchain that upholds free and open source core development, truly decentralized ideology, no KYC or counterparty risk EVER, and with insanely elegant functional tech actually still matters.
Celebrating getting older when daily chain restructures, shutdowns, layoffs, and centralized structures and foundations collapse is bittersweet. Blockchain and crypto have a reputation in the wider world that's been shaped by the bad times and made even worse by the bad actors. So it matters to celebrate Hive loudly to everyone: because we never stop building.
Hive is made by humans, for humans. Morale and momentum don't stop in the down cycles, and we want that feeling to spread. $HIVE and $HBD weren't made just for the ultra nerds, the cracked giga brain devs, the hustlemaxxers, AI agents, cyberlobsters, critical speculatoooors or trad-fi retail overlords.
Our open access social graph, relationship and identity features, instant settlement, zero fees, and connective tissue are all based on what a real person needs to bring more real people together. It's open to all, and represents the way we create, share and move value... for whoever wants to use it, forever.
