This is just a mislabeling problem from the start. Max does it in his post you quoted. “Students” who “studied” got post graduate work permits (PGWP) and they got added to the IMP numbers. twfs were never the problem. Did you know under Trudeau’s government, visitor visa holders could obtain a work permit (started in 2020) and the policy only ended in 2024??? Insane.

The Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) is only a small part of the problem when it comes to mass migration, believe it or not. They use it as a low-hanging fruit, which is why the corporate shill CPC feels like they're allowed to bring it up. The International Mobility Program (IMP) is WAAAY worse, and accounts for a significantly larger share of yearly temporary migration and exploitation. The difference is that the TFWP requires a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to be conducted before the workers are approved, whilst the IMP doesn't. Yes — it also means we have a program that allows temporary workers to come to Canada without a strong enough economic justification. Granted, from what I understand about your perspective, you believe all migration is a problem, which I don't completely disagree with, given our current circumstances. I think it would be more effective to shed light on what might be the largest fish in the pond first, and work our way down from there. Otherwise, I fear we're all playing into the game they want us to be playing.
