🇪🇬 Egyptian Y-DNA Result – E-FT276527 (under E-M84) TMRCA: ~2100 ybp | Formed: ~3400 ybp 🧬 Sample Details Name: Al-Sharari (الشراري) Country: Egypt Y-DNA Lineage: E-FT276527 SNP Path E-M96>CTS9083>P147>P177>P2>M215>M35>Z827>CTS10298>PF1962>M123>M34>L795>S11835>S12033>S11956>Y5767>Y5427>PF6751>Y6189>Y6186>FGC79645>FT278388>FT276527 This Egyptian sample belongs to haplogroup E-FT276527 under E-M84, a downstream branch of FT278388. At the level of E-FGC79645 (two upstream branches), the lineage shows a concentration of samples in the Arabian Peninsula, specifically in Saudi Arabia and Yemen, indicating a likely regional association for this cluster. Within E-FT276527, the Egyptian sample clusters with four Saudi samples and two samples of unknown origin, suggesting a shared paternal lineage within this branch. Notably, the brother lineage FT278388>FTD267 includes several ancient DNA samples, all identified in Armenia: • Beniamin 11675 (R11675) lived between 1490–1332 BCE during the Late Bronze Age and was found in Beniamin, Shirak, Armenia. He was associated with the Bronze Age Caucasian cultural group. Reference: Antonio et al. 2023. • Nerkin Getashen 15733 (I15733) lived between 1434–1300 BCE during the Late Bronze Age and was found in Nerkin Getashen, Martuni, Gegharkunik, Armenia. He was associated with the Lchashen-Metsamor cultural group. His direct maternal line belonged to mtDNA haplogroup J1c. Reference: Lazaridis et al. 2022. • Nerkin Getashen 15732 (I15732) lived between 1439–1293 BCE during the Late Bronze Age and was found in Nerkin Getashen, Martuni, Gegharkunik, Armenia. He was associated with the Lchashen-Metsamor cultural group. His direct maternal line belonged to mtDNA haplogroup K1a1. Reference: Lazaridis et al. 2022. • Sarukhan 20444 (I20444) lived between 200 BCE–50 CE during the Late Iron Age and was found in Sarukhan, Gegharkunik, Armenia. He was associated with the Iron Age Caucasian cultural group. His direct maternal line belonged to mtDNA haplogroup T2a1b2b. Reference: Lazaridis et al. 2022. These samples span from the Late Bronze Age to the Iron Age and highlight a consistent presence of this broader lineage in the Armenian region. Further Y-DNA testing may help clarify the migration history of this lineage and how it ultimately reached Egypt. 🔗 Y-DNA Links discover.familytreedna.com/y-dna/E-FT2765… yfull.com/tree/E-FT27565… 🗺 Map Note Migration routes shown in phylogenetic maps are schematic and illustrative.
