@Eili Ester or Esteri Johanna and she'd pass for a Finn. Johanna, Hanna, Hanne and a few others are of the same root, female versions of Johannes I think. The biblical one.

@le_rameau Well. What a surprise. Johana *is* a traditional Czech name...which no one really uses anymore, Jana is much more common. Oh well. Johanka is diminutive - we thought it sounded too harsh paired with Ester. We call her Esterka most of the time, anyway.

@Eili Sounds eerily Finnish. One letter and it'd be Johanna, and I had two classmates by that name. And a third's little sister.

Woke up at 5:30. Checked the news. Saw Ledecká's golden ride. Been watching her reaction since. Priceless. It also helps that we beat CAN in hockey. Lucky day?

@le_rameau I'm only slightly curious to see whether our "Slovak brethren" are going to celebrate at all.

@le_rameau I'm not too worried. We only feel patriotic when watching sports or some poor soul tries to cross our border by mistake.
