Today we honor the work and legacy of MLK by observing Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a day of service. Ekstrom Library will be closed today and will resume normal business hours Tuesday, January 21st, at 7:30

Long-range plans for Ekstrom Library include creating more gender-neutral restrooms in other spaces as funding permits. Come study, relax, or just to belong at Ekstrom Library. #WeareUofL

Provost Beth Boehm also has been supportive of the effort and is pleased that the Libraries were able to move forward with this.

University Libraries leaders have gathered feedback from the LSAB, SGA, UofL Libraries DIAG, LGBTQ+ FSA & student groups, SPA, Physical Plant, and campus employees who collectively expressed a desire for inclusive, accessible facilities.

We would like to take a moment to acknowledge the assiduous work of the University of Louisville Libraries Dean, Robert Fox, for his momentum and support in this project.

We are excited to announce the opening of a new gender-neutral restroom that is fully equipped with a changing table for our student parents and visitors. Located on the second floor, in the west wing of Ekstrom Library, the new restroom is open 24/7....
