I’m sorry, but if that happened to Usyk, there would have been riots. I’m seeing a lot of these wild conspiracy theories that the referee deliberately stopped it after the bell sounded etc. It this was the case, Rico wouldn’t have got so much time to recover. Now can I see why people think the fight should have continued? Yes. But calls of the biggest robbery in boxing etc is a nonsense. Rico was heavily knocked down, he took a hellacious uppercut to the jaw which nearly sent him out of the ring. It would have finished most fighters. But like the warrior he is, he got up, but as he went to his corner to put his gum shield back in his legs dipped, which the referee saw. Usyk then landed crushing blows to his jaw, unanswered. Some missed but some connected. It isn’t the referees job to let the round play out. He’s there to protect the fighter and he was more than justified in stopping it. You can think this and think he should have let it go on given how much time was left. Both can be true at the same time. But calls of robbery and conspiracy’s just isn’t true.
