@The_RadicalDino that's more like you have this stereotype on how orientalism should look like when even China was over this stereotype in the early 20th century

@ElYisusH There won't any effort, the whimsical and fey like nature of the spirit world was largely ignored to serve a Good vs Evil story which is incredibly western centric.

@ElYisusH @ani_meme25 You do know that we see her earthbending while fighting him, right, as well as airbending and firebending? We also saw her clapping Vaatu before Unalaq intervened. And the Vatar state imparts the skills and experiences of all previous avatars. So Korra obviously should have won.

Random Avatar Korra fact: Did you know Korra was the only Avatar to ever fight a man who could kill a spirit? Normally spirits cannot be killed they can only be trapped. Yet Unalaq mastered dark water bending to the point where he destroyed Raava herself He ended the entire Avatar cycle in one move and Korra still got up and defeated him after all of that. Tell me again why she is not the greatest Avatar???

@ani_meme25 He had water, she had water AND fire, Earth, and air and was used to being in the Avatar state. And still lost handedly.

She didn’t defeat him. She actually got beat a 2nd time and got saved by Jenora releasing light. Her spirit was about to be destroyed too. Season 1: lost to Amon-saved by aang Season 2: lost to dark avatar-saved by Jenora Season 3: lost to Zaheer-saved by airbenders Season 4: she actually won 3/4 seasons she lost horribly and got saved by someone else.

@JaysNftsArts @ani_meme25 @Lairdphoenix27 That wasn’t the problem… even if there was one, she wouldn’t have listened to it. She was a basic lesbian who wanted to fight everything with fury because was too cool to meditate. Literally that’s the whole plot… not the villains but how we make her to meditate 1 sec.

This ain't no X-Men, bro. Nobody in the ATLA world was born with the ability to just somehow make fire, water, earth, or air out of the palm of their hand without any explanation. That ability has to come from somewhere. Because otherwise, nonbenders should not exist in ATLA.
AJ❤️🤍@AJ_psykos2

Remember how fire bending origin was you facing the dragons, they judge you for who you are, and decide whether to teach you or not? Bryke decided that such a mythical and tedious process, which would’ve taken thousands of years to spread, was too good, and reduced it to magic

@GusRs26 @Carl_Nwakakwa that's because air nomads were actually spiritual and connected with their lion turtle, they were even allowed to keep their bending in their shell then those air nomads died and reincarnated into new airbenders

@Carl_Nwakakwa It seemed the ability was born from generations of learning from the original benders. It's a fantasy world, it doesn't have to make sense to reality in the same way Lion Turtles touching people does. The only complaint is that it's a seemingly needless retcon to past lore.

Also, please note how Korra doesn't even "change" the origins of bending, it simply expands upon them and provides clarification. "Before you had to learn from dragons!" and in the same episode Wan is LEARNING from dragons.
Jasmine('s boobs hurt)@Ranting_Trans

For the love of- The turts gave them the ability to bend, but not how to control it. All of the early "benders" suck ass with their bending because they have no training. You still have to study the dragons/bisons/moon/badger moles to learn how to really bend.
