I’m just tired.

There’s a big difference between the artists who have realised they’re not always right and the artists who think their practice is so forward thinking they can disregard process, materiality and influence.

I hate when people say “I wish I could do that but I just don’t know how I’d even begin.”

Now I can't figure out if I've actually fallen out of love with my art practice, or if I just don't have the strength to care anymore.

One of my academic advisors gave me some advice yesterday. She said I shouldn't be disappointed in myself for falling out of love with my postgrad course, because it's only temporary and it's harder to lose something you love.

My tram just drove by someone running late to a funeral. I saw them speed up to reach the church. Worrying about running late for a funeral seems so peculiar. I don’t think they’ll mind...

You can’t keep asking the same question until you get the answer you want. It doesn’t work that way.

Empathy is great, but one of the most infuriating things to hear when you’re struggling is “I know, I went through the same thing”. No, you didn’t. Don’t generalise someone’s suffering and make it sound smaller than it feels.

When you’re in charge of someone else’s care, it’s kind of terrifying to tell other people when something goes wrong.
