I commend President Biden on his decision. His tenure will be remembered as one of the most productive and consequential of any in history.

In stepping aside, President Biden has shown how much and how genuinely he loves and wants to preserve democracy. He has done one of the most difficult things for any political leader, and has done so in the national interest.

Like JFK, President Biden asked not what his country could do for him but what he could do for his country. He will go down in history as a truly great president and a great human being.

History has taught us the cost of appeasement. While the Republican Party used to oppose murderous oppressors, today they kneel to them. They betray the ideals so many patriots died to defend.

This isn't complicated. The Russians supported Trump. He won. Today, the three leading candidates for the Republican nomination all support Putin's position that Russian genocide is a "regional dispute." Trump has endorsed Jim Jordon for Speaker. He has the Putin position. The party that was for decades the most consistent antagonist to the tyranny of the Soviet Union and Russia is now a functional tool to help Russian genocide. In the history of Western democracies, no major political party has been so compromised by a hostile foreign power. If you vote Republican, this is what you are supporting.

Allowing Putin to annex Ukrainian land in 2014 did not produce peace. So why does anyone think giving Putin more Ukrainian land now would produce lasting peace? Illogical.

In 2012, Romney called Russia our "greatest geo-political foe." In 2016, Russia backed Trump. Now the leading candidates in GOP all support Putin's position to cut off aid to Ukraine. Russia's influence on the GOP is the most successful intelligence operation in history.

Yes, I actually want Russians to stop dying in this needless war. Mr. Putin, save Russian lies. End your invasion of Ukraine. You don't need more territory. Focus on developing the land you already have.

In our history Trump is the only president with no prior government or military service. He’s now twice impeached and four times indicted. That should be reason enough to not waste a second on someone with a comparable background of non-service, Vivek Ramaswamy.
