🇫🇷#France, municipal elections results (1st round): Here is a map showing the party that came first in the largest city of each department in metropolitan France. The center-right came first in the majority of medium-sized cities, while the left led by the Socialists and the Greens dominates in the large cities. In the south, the far-right National Rally (RN) managed to come out on top in several large cities in the first round.

The incumbent Green Mayor Jeanne Barseghian announced the merger of her list with Florian Kobryn's list (FI) in an attempt to keep the her seat. The centre-left party "Place Publique" (PP) announced that it will withdraw its candidates from the Mayor’s list following this alliance.

🇫🇷#France, Saint-Denis mayoral election results (1st round): According to a SAGIS projection for Réunion la 1ère, Mayor Ericka Bareigts (PS) would secure a landslide victory in the first round, securing 61,5 % of the votes. Gaëlle Lebon (RR) would stand in second place with only 10,7 % of the votes. Saint-Denis is the largest city in the French overseas territories. #Municipales2026

Anti-independence candidate Cynthia Jan is well ahead of the Incumbent Mayor, Yoann Lecourieux, who is also against New Caledonia independence.

🇫🇷#France: It's election day in France! The French are called to elect their Mayors and municipal councilors in 34 875 municipalities across the country for a six-year term. The results will be closely watched in the major cities, where the left is fighting to retain Paris, Marseille, and Lyon (the country’s three largest cities), while also trying to win the remaining major cities held by the right, such as Toulouse, Nîmes, and Le Havre, the stronghold of former Prime Minister Édouard Philippe, who is fighting for his political survival. The far-right National Rally (RN) also hopes to make gains in major cities in the southeast of the country such as Nice and Toulon, two cities currently held by the right, as well as in Marseille, where the race is expected to be tight against the incumbent Socialist Mayor Benoît Payan.
