Femke Gerritse and Mischa Bredewold positioned us perfectly in the run-up, after which Demi broke away solo and I protected her move. Plans often don’t work out, but today they did. That makes it extra special.” “I was happy to be able to play my role at the front. I simply stayed on Kasia Niewiadoma’s wheel, which made it harder for her to chase. It’s annoying to have someone constantly on your wheel. If I’m riding for Team SD Worx-Protime, I’ll help her with the chase, but today I was in orange and so I tried to make the chase harder to protect Demi's breakaway.
