Lots of @SeismicSys FUD that I am seeing all over my tl ↓ Funnily enough, just weeks ago some KOLs, wannabe KOLs as well as generic engagement farmers were hyping up Seismic and telling you that you will bag $5k-20k for Discord roles there but have now done a full 180 and are telling you to stop contributing to the pj altogether What caused this? Seismic had a one-year anniversary community AMA on March 6 where their founder Lyron dropped some controversial announcements. Let's try to analyze them objectively Disclaimer: I do NOT consider myself a Seismic community member or their fanboy. Despite reaching a Magnitude 4 role back in May 2025, I stopped actively contributing a long time ago due to the impression that their DC community was too overcrowded by that time, but that was my choice. That said, I’ve still been following most of their updates So let's take a crack at analyzing the most discussed topics from the announcement: ▫️Testnet is live and not incentivized. Totally expected for the testnet to not be incentivized (and I'd take the team's word for it here). This is a good way to manage community's expectations. Or do you want it to end like Union where peeps literally farmed it day and night and got nothing? Kek They also mentioned that testnet access was initially limited to Magnitude 5+ role holders to prioritize long-term supporters (take the hint here btw) Even if the testnet is not incentivized, it still doesn’t hurt to do a few clicks here and there "just in case". Just do it organically = "Users are not expected to spend hours chasing rewards.", they said - another clue for you ▫️Seismic won't TGE at mainnet. This is a difficult one. This could turn out either good OR bad↓ Point #1: they obviously don't want to launch in current market conditions. Notice how they're saying: "We want to launch a token from a stronger position". That's another clue for you bro Point #2: right now, there is virtually no way to know what they will consider as a "strong position". Notice how they're saying that the token launch timing will depend on real financial performance, tying it to TPV and AUM. This creates a huuuuuge ambiguity on token launch timing meaning the team could theoretically delay it indefinitely (hopefully they won't lol). I'm still pretty sure they will launch this year btw but I wouldn't hope for a TGE sooner than end of Q3 ▫️And the last one. The new King of Magnitude role. This one got many people triggered. I even saw one guy saying "Every time you start getting bored, they drop another new role to grind." That's obviously a lie = Seismic has NEVER added new roles to their DC system before, they had Mag 1-9 + Leader roles from the very beginning. This is the first new role they’ve introduced. Seismic is definitely not a case like Ritual, a pj that keeps adding new roles every three months and revamping their DC system entirely This role is obviously added to keep the peeps with Mag 9 roles engaged so they don’t abandon contributions and activity entirely seeing as how the TGE is still far away. They are also stating that this King role will "not exceed Magnitude 9" There is one more important thing many of you might have missed: "Limited slots for Magnitude 5-9 roles. Distribution continues until TGE". This is yet ANOTHER huge hint for you (not gonna say more here but you obviously know what I mean hehe) Some final considerations: ▫️If you're new to Seismic or just joined recently, I don't believe this is a good opportunity for you. You're LATE. You're literally miles behind people who have been in this community for months or since its inception ▫️If you're like Mag3+, then by all means keep going. Consider this: Seismic is building within a pretty decent moat (though we'll see how mainnet goes), they're backed by a16z and Polychain (regardless of what anyone say, these are very strong backers), and the founder appears fairly community-aligned. Contributing to Seismic is still a better choice than contributing to something like Data Haven (RIP) And there’s no way of knowing how much you’re gonna get. Literally no way. Don’t believe anyone posting any kind of figures just to engagement farm. You can't get inside the founder's head and see what he’s thinking, period. So don't play the guessing game and manage expectations accordingly Anyway, we'll see how it plays out. Good luck
