At one point yesterday the police cuffed a bloke we didn’t know who was defending one of our women from being punched. He was pulling men off her and yet he was led away. As the police exited with him a trans activist came up behind me and said, “The police have left you now. You’re on your own. Let’s see what happens to you.” It was really sinister. The officers came back and they knew they had to get us away for our own safety. They admitted it was why they didn’t want us walking our suffragette flag past the hundreds of trans flags there. We walked it past under police escort when we refused to leave Sheffield Town Hall steps on principle. Inside the building is where supposed democracy lives. Our elected politicians are there. A man followed us as we walked away. Bessie was having none of it and gave him a piece of her mind. But his intentions were not good. Stand your ground women. More male violence against women is coming from these men. A lot more.
