The power of #media! Thank you to @WR_Record for writing this story 7 yrs ago on the launch of @KawasakiDisCan's website. The next day, a little girl's heart (and perhaps her life) were saved because this story was seen and acted on by a medical assistant in #WaterlooRegion!

In 2008, co-founder and board chair Elizabeth Heald’s 6-year old son, Dylan, passed away suddenly of heart complications due to undiagnosed Kawasaki Disease. You can read more about Elizabeth's journey as highlighted in the @WR_Record here: buff.ly/3rbjpBn

We condemn the actions of the white nationalist groups and people with right-wing extremist beliefs targeting @selamdebs with racism and violence. Selam, her family and business are being harassed, and our #WatReg community must stand up for those impacted by racism and hate.

Huge thanks to Ray and Lisa Solski for their generous donation of $3600 in memory of their son, Rylen, who passed away in June 2020 due to an undiagnosed case of #Kawasakidisease. This past June, Ray and Lisa organized a memorial fishing derby in memory of their beloved son.

Victoria was diagnosed with #Kawasakidisease at the age of 12. Her diagnosis was delayed, resulting in the development of aneurysms. She adapted to her new normal and remained stable for a decade, but had 2 heart attacks in her early 20s. Read her story: buff.ly/2LOIW27
