There was a day I mistakenly broke my mum’s favorite set of plates. My sister saw everything, and out of fear, I begged her not to tell our mum. I trusted her when she agreed to keep it a secret. Whenever my mum asked about the plates, I would just say I would look for them. But my sister began to use it against me. Anytime I tried to report her or asked her for anything, she would remind me of the broken plates. It hurt even more because she had evidence, so I couldn’t deny it. I felt trapped and powerless. One day, my mum asked me to choose between a handbag and a head tie. I loved the handbag and chose it, but my sister leaned close and whispered, “Remember the plate you broke. Give me the bag or I’ll tell Mum.” In that moment, I felt overwhelmed. Instead of giving in, I went straight to my mum, knelt down, and confessed everything. I was punished, but for the first time, I felt free.

I just asked this man how many kids he has .. He said: "The two oldest are 42 & 38 from my first wife.. and the youngest are 15 & 13 from my current wife." I said, "That's a crazy age gap o." My boss asked us to complete a task before 12pm, but for some reason, we didn’t get it done. When she returned, she was very angrry and called us into her office. One by one, she asked everyone why we didn’t finish our work. My four colleagues gave different excuses, one said she was sick, another said she had an earache, and so on. When it got to my turn, she asked for my excuse. I had already thought of what to say, but after a moment, I decided to own up. I told her it was negligence on my part. She nodded, then turned to my colleagues and announced that they had been suspended for two weeks and asked me to go back to work for being honest. I felt bad for them, but after then, I ended up doing my job and the work of the four suspended colleagues. Those two weeks were h€ll for me; the workload was just too much. After two weeks, they returned to work. When salary was paid, there was no reduction, they all received their full pay. That made me wonder: who actually received the punishment in the end?

5 years ago, a major bank put an extra zero on my deposit by mistake and turned it into a six figure deposit. I immediately withdrew the money and went on a shopping spree at Saks.
