@gassy_hips @DudespostingWs Nah, Todd was in lots of meetings. He was a bit part of development. I think nowadays Bethesda is just a lot bigger and more corporate. Order(s) of magnitude less collaborative dev now.

@DudespostingWs I have a suspicion that Todd Howard did very little in terms of development on any video games and was always just more of a marketing guy. It just doesn’t make sense how someone could fall off so hard unless they were never actually legitimate

One of the creators of the iconic video game Skyrim remembers getting laughed at as a kid for saying he wanted to make video games. Then Skyrim went on to make an estimated $650 million to $1 billion in its first 30 days after releasing in 2011.

Given that I'm updating Rodina to work with modern compilers / libraries, I want to say: The C++ Standard Committee is bad and they should feel bad.

I know this is a charged issue (maybe even particularly so for an indie project like this!) so I'm sorry if this upsets anybody! I wanted to be open about it -hope you can see my reasoning🙏 Thanks very much! I'm still working on an actual update for you as well, I do promise!

But frankly, for Rodina this is academic. This situation is practically a crisis and could kill the game. This little experiment could save Rodina in a very meaningful way.

Rodina has been held back by being tethered to an old free Havok *2010* Physics binary. I've been building on Windows *7* and Visual Studio *2013* until this year💀Huge software compatibility issues - HUGE And of course - Havok is a deeply integrated part of Rodina's codebade.
