This is what I miss about pre-covid SLT life! I had my first face-to-face appt yesterday since September. This is my second week back at work after losing my dad to cancer. This drawing from a wee one on my caseload made me smile no end ☺️ #mySLTday

After hours in front of a screen doing tele consultations, I’m all cross-eyed & head is spinning. I miss the olden days of GP-ing. I’m a traditionalist so I appreciate I might be the only one with this view. Excited now for an afternoon of face to face appts. I just miss people!

@wmmc70 You know Wendy I frantically searched my pencil case for my mini ruler - PDPP 2 exam sprang to mind! A tip I will remember for as long as I’m an SLT 😂

@EllisSlt And don’t forget your ruler so your eyes don’t jump on the tables

Note to self: ALWAYS use a pencil when marking a CELF assessment, you will make mistakes 😅

Vaccinated a man today- when I told him I’m an SaLT he said: “You have no idea how much I respect your profession. I’m a throat cancer survivor and your colleagues saved my life. You gave me my life back when I had to relearn how to swallow. You’re truly underrated” ❤️ #mySLTday

Starting to warm to video therapy as I just got to meet 10 baby chicks that one of the families I work with have 🐥 next week they’re bringing their baby lambs! A wee treat for the kids at the end of the session and me! The perks of rural community work 🐣🐑

My new colleague (Billy the kitten) and I are ready for a day of virtual therapy. Billy is my shadow so it’s likely he’ll be a background feature of most sessions. We always talk about our pets during therapy sessions so I hope I can meet their little furry friends too 🐱🐶

Can anyone sign post interactive resources for children to use during school closures? I have a couple of children I'm worried about being isolated during school closures and something interactive and educational could provide them with some positive input! Thanks in advance :)
