Another legislative season is nearly in the books! I’m so proud of what we’re accomplishing in Illinois and how we are working together to build a more equitable, fiscally response future for our state.

I was proud 2 vote for HB2789, which allows state grant funding only 2 libraries that adhere 2 the American Library Assoc’s Library Bill of Rights, which protects against attempts to ban/remove/restrict access 2 books or other materials. In IL we protect ur right 2 read freely.

Illinois is now the third state in the nation––and the first in the Midwest––to guarantee paid leave for all workers. This historic legislation is a game changer for so many working families and a critical step in building a more equitable state.
