@jtelferoz I’ve flicked some N out at last rain and I’ll see how it looks from here out. Just like to see the grazing potential of the Pallaton mainly.

@ElmoElson how much N is floating around is the issue.. certainly plenty of Brassicas firepower.. just maybe not enough Nprotein shakes to go around.. hopefully if it fires.. and you are grazing you can get in season N cycling. ;)

@jtelferoz Only bout 20kg. Wanted vetch but it was a 80km trip to get 1/2 t for this job. Hopefully the brassicas are the hero’s here

@LauraHillsLamb We’ve been spreading kangaroo grass over the years. It tends to be the last option sheep will eat in our hills. But once they get going on it they smash it.

Our goats tend to leave our Kangaroo Grass alone but the sheep eat it. Who else is finding this?

Lockhart yesterday working through a 40-ft John Deere 1890, knocking over a full disc change across all 64 units. Usually when someone says “it’s just a disc change” we know it won’t be. But this one behaved. A rare unicorn job. Ready for sowing in a few weeks.

1st Photo - Chaff spread + Gypsum on RHS vs Gypsum only 2nd Photo - Chaff only on RHS vs Untreated Spread at 45o to sowing. Still nothing better than chaff/stubble/hay/straw (gravel in WA?) on saline soil to establish a crop!

Place the bale in the back, & the spreader chews it up, spreading the straw/hay out over the paddock. A bit harder with chaff - my work has been manually spreading it with a front end loader, or similar?!?
