A group of men in Algeria captures a black child and humiliates him:
“You blacks are nothing more than dirty slaves, our slaves. You should be grateful we let you live.”
Anyone who thinks white people are racist has not met the average Arab/Muslim yet.

You have said a lot, but to get the record straight, Edo state is a land with zero tribalism and zero religious segregation wether you are Muslim, Christian, Hausa, Fulani , Igbo Yoruba or anything. Come to Benin city for instance, you will see that we have tens of thousands of northern Muslim working freely as manual laborers, Okada Riders and security personnel and gatekeepers. Even as we speak, I have 3 directly working for me, one guiding my home ( permanently living in my security post) two guiding my factory.
I do not support the Uromi massacre but I don’t really blame the people who took laws into their hands. They have suffered a lot and I have seen several cases when locals have captured kidnappers or criminal Fulani herdsmen and handover them to the police only for them to be released immediately without real investigation or prosecution. So the jungle justice should be blamed on the government and its security forces not Uromi people. Until the government learn how to do its job, people will continue to take laws into their hand.
My anger with Arewa people is this. Why are they condemning this Uromi killings whereas many of them were silent in the case of Deborah. Even some prominent figures even publicly supported the killing. We will always bring in the Deborah issue because Deborah is a Christian who was accused of blasphemy under the Islamic laws. Subjecting a Christian to Islamic laws is not only the problem, but killing her extrajudicially by the mob, without investigation and prosecution by the appropriate authorities is an act that should have been condemned by all. What if she was accused innocently just as it has happened in many cases. This is why we southerners are angry. Imagine Arewa influencers, politicians and public figure who never condemned the Deborah case are now demanding for justice for Uromi massacre.
Another thing we should know is the fact that the people of Uromi carried out the act not for the hatred for northern Muslims, but for the suspicion that those men where kidnappers, let’s not forget the insecurity they have been suffering for a while now. Hundreds of northerners have been living in Uromi for decades and are still there till date. But the questions we should be asking is how did the so called hunters traveling from port Harcourt to Kano ended up at Uromi? Why are they always arriving in their hundreds with trailers going to no particular location or address? What are the so called Northern hunters doing in the south , because I have never seen any of them hunting in our bush or seen any northerner selling bush meat.
How come the so called hunters and Fulani herdsmen are able to freely carry weapons without confrontation by our security forces unabated ?
Another big issue is this? Why are the northerners not able to integrate into our society and live with us normal people? They can never live in a rented apartment and pay rent and live normal lives like every other people . They would rather live in buses , uncompleted building and trenches. 70% of them don’t speak or understand English, and non of them speak our local dialect, how do we communicate ? They don’t pay taxes or involve in meaningful employment. I have never seen a northerner as an electrician, welder , plumber, carpenter, mechanic or barber.
What will be your reaction if as northerners in the mist of so much insecurity you catch a group of southerners with guns claiming to be hunters? What if we don’t pay rent or taxes, and only leave in your bushes and trenches ? What if we southerners are always killing your farmers, raping your women, destroying your crops and taking over your properties and responsible for over 80% of all criminal activities in your society, how will you see and treat us?

Outside the noise, a lot of Binis are very proud of their Ife Origin.
There is a union/group in Benin called “Egbe Ivbiuhe” which means Uhe (Ife) Descendants Union. Their salutation is La-uhe which refers to their Ife Origin. The Edebiris are a proud member of this Union.
Dear Kanye,
You said, “Impossibility is a myth,” and you set out to prove that impossibility was nothing when you created the largest art canvas in the world at 12,303.87square meters
You are Brave, Audacious, and Tenacious.
Congratulations on your recognition. Your story has made history, and Nigeria is proud of you, Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke.
Returning home to a rousing welcome from you, my good people of Edo, is truly heartwarming. Your overwhelming show of support reaffirms that the Tribunal’s ruling is more than just a legal victory—it is a reaffirmation of the mandate you freely entrusted to me.
As part of this homecoming, I had the honor of visiting His Royal Majesty, Omo N' Oba N' Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin Kingdom. I expressed my gratitude for his unwavering love, prayers, and support for my administration and assured him of my commitment to working tirelessly for the people and ensuring that Edo enjoys the full dividends of democracy.
My beloved Edo people, this victory belongs to us all. It strengthens our resolve to deliver Practical Governance—one of real impact, progress, and transformation. Now, we move forward with even greater dedication to building the Edo State we all deserve.
Thank you, Edo people. Thank you, Your Majesty. It feels great to be home!
