@EmCHyatt @HermanPontzer Barnacles happen to be one of my favourite animals. When I lived in Belgium, I had a small aquarium with mainly barnacles. They are fascinating. There is something about their constant waving that is almost hypnotic.

An ID question for #sciencetwitter. #dinoflagellate cyst? #diatom? It came from a #seaturtle carapace #epibiont sample.

@Limno_Kelly The turtle was in the Bay Islands of Honduras, and I cannot say for certain what its composition is. I was looking for bryozoans and ended up with an amazing diversity of organisms on the pin. This was the only of its kind that I found, but I love its starburst pattern!

@EmCHyatt That's beautiful! What region was it from? Do you known if it's a silicate or carbonate microfossil? I can say it's not a diatom, which isn't very helpful
