This is why the newest legislation in India is so upsetting. Just yesterday there was news of two of our trans sisters/Elders being arrested after helping a transgender teen who had fled her home. These types of laws are meant to isolate LGBTQIA2S+ youth from queer community.

people aren't doing this because it's what they perceive her to be. it's literally what the show told us. furthermore, Sokka is not presented as a father within the show despite the ways in which he acts fatherly. That's just like a sex, something from the writers, one of many.

as someone who is the second eldest but was treated as the eldest (just like katara) I think yall need to stop projecting your wants/needs onto katara and actually watch the show. katara is not you 😭 the amount of emotional labor it takes to be with zuko is immense, don’t lie
