Ambassador Gberie of 🇸🇱 , held a courtesy call with Ambassador Kmentt of 🇦🇹. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration across key humanitarian and security priorities in multilateral fora, including the promotion of IHL and protection of civilians.

At #MC14 in Yaoundé, Sierra Leone reaffirms its commitment to a fair, inclusive, rules-based multilateral trading system. Led by Trade Minister Alpha Ibrahim Sesay, the delegation is engaging on key priorities, including WTO reform, agriculture, and development outcomes for LDCs.

Ambassador Gberie joins other Co-chairing states and technical experts of the Global Initiative to Galvanize Political Commitment to #IHL at a working retreat organized by #ICRC and #Switzerland’s FDFA to develop a draft text for a political declaration to uphold humanity in war.

On the margins of the World Governments Summit 2026, I had a productive conversation with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. We witnessed the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and committed to strengthening cooperation across vital sectors.

H.E. @julius_maadabio met with Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus,DG of @WHO, on the margins of #WEF26 in Davos, discussed health systems, emergency preparedness and sustainable financing. The WHO DG commended 🇸🇱 for its strong mpox response and continued investments in health infrastructure

I was delighted to join the panel at the World Economic Forum on Africa's prosperity in the New Economy. I emphasized investing in human capital, improving agriculture, adding value in mining, and empowering youth with jobs. Politically, I urged African leaders to shift mindsets and remove obstacles to intra-Africa trade. #Davos #WorldEconomicForum2026

Had a productive meeting with @KGeorgieva, Managing Director of IMF. I highlighted Sierra Leone’s improving macroeconomic outlook despite global uncertainty, thanked IMF for confidence, and reaffirmed commitment to the ECF programme.

At the Davos World Economic Forum, I discussed with Abdullah KH ALMUSAIBEEH, President of BADEA. I thanked BADEA for its support in our Medium-term National Development Plan, especially in Infrastructure, Agriculture, and Education. We agreed to accelerate project progress and explore new collaboration opportunities.

I departed Sierra Leone for Davos, Switzerland, to attend the World Economic Forum's 56th Annual Meeting under this year’s theme, ‘A Spirit of Dialogue.’
