dark web horror as genre of novel that is. I've also enjoyed B.R. Yeager's NEGATIVE SPACE, Eliza Clark's PENANCE, Alison Rumfitt's BRAINWYRMS (especially the parasite sections), most of Aoife Clements' PERSONA (feel like it didn't fully come together but LOVED parts).

have accidentally read a lot of dark web/fucked up internet horror over the last few months and most of it has been really solid but I think Monica Ojeda's NEFANDO might be one of the absolute best of the genre. would not rec to most people bc the subject matter is BLEAK. but.

it's totally cool if people don't like the specific het pairings that have become published novels but i find that aspect less concerning than the fact that just 13 of the top 100 pairings of all time on ao3 are m/f but all the successful published novels that were fics are m/f
