
BREAKING: Big win for Bridget Otoo (@Bridget_Otoo) and @VanessaEboateng who have just won their case against the Police Administration for the Police Brutality endured during the #OccupyJulorbiHouse Demonstration The High Court of Justice (Human Rights Division 2 Accra), presided over by Justice Nana Brew found that officers of the Ghana Police Service violated the fundamental rights of journalists and activists they were duty-bound to protect. Justice Brew described the conduct of the police as “unconstitutional,” citing physical assaults and unlawful interference. The Court granted all reliefs sought by the applicants, with adjusted compensation: - Compensatory Damages: GHC 100,000 - General Damages: GHC 50,000 - Legal Costs: GHC 30,000 - Formal Apology: Police ordered to publish an unqualified apology in Daily Graphic
