Yes I saw that thanks I pointed this out in 2019. 7 years ago Govt banished me, establishment economists infected with Vishwaguru hubris ignored me. If only we had acted then we would have averted economic irrelevance now As a patriot being correct gives me no joy.

There is so much recent negativity about @airindia that I want to put this out. I have taken 3 flights on @airindia in the last three days. On Wednesday:Rome to Del On Thursday: Del to Bom On Friday: Bom to Del In every single case the flight was on time. The inflight service was warm & efficient. Luggage came relatively quickly (quickest in Del) The check in was entirely painless I don’t think frequent travellers care as much as others about airline food but if you think that’s important then I had a very good dinner on Rome to Del. On the international sector I flew one of the older Dreamliners & I am not one of those aeroplane nerds but I thought it was very comfortable. It’s second nature for many of us to bitch about @airindia but it’s one of only two international airlines I fly regularly. The other is @emirates which admittedly is far better ( & far more expensive) but it is the best airline in the world so it’s better than every other carrier anyway. The Tatas need to hold their nerve. There is a lot that is good about @airindia that rarely gets acknowledged @TataCompanies

Gold imports = gold purchases at lower price = higher asset value as gold has appreciated. Indians buy gold because it's a real asset and a good hedge against inflation or depreciation of rupee vs USD and vs gold.

The entire $0.5-0.6T current account gap over the last ~15 years for India is gold. By extension, cumulative net FDI and FPI over this period is almost the same. We have attracted hundreds of billions of dollars with one hand before sending it outside to buy gold with other hand.

You should see Yogi’s convoy…………I lost count of the vehicles. Funny part is I noticed that some of them was with just driver & nobody else. So it was more of a status symbol. Hope he will also issue orders to change this practice.

India's GDP share of manufacturing is 17%. If India didn't have this manufacturing sector, do we really think its services & agric sectors would have been able to grow as fast? Do we think it would have same or less macro stability (BoP, fiscal balances, inflation etc)?

According to Sources, during recent flights of Narendra Modi in his private Plane, many times he asked the pilot to switch off all engines and he pushed the Plane from behind in Mid-air to conserve fuel. Sources said he will do the same during his 5 Nation tour

Infact like Mr @PChidambaram_IN , most Ministers hardly had no more than one security vehicle . Even as a Home Minister Mr Chidambaram used only one security vehicle . @salman7khurshid did not even use a security vehicle . He was my Minister when I was Director (Policy & Planning ) in the Ministry of Ministry of Ministry . Those were the times . No हल्ला गुला ! Just doing your job without any fanfare and ताम झाम.

Leadership and delegation naturally function differently at the top level compared to subordinates. This is exactly how things work in the private sector as well.
