I didn’t realize how low the bar had gotten until I caught myself asking for the bare minimum like it was a favor. Simple things. A call back. A little reassurance. Just feeling considered. And every time I had to ask, I felt smaller. Like I was negotiating for something that should’ve been natural. It started to feel less like love and more like convincing.
