Memories are popping up in my phone from 8 years who when I attended the Oxford Conference of Corsetry at Oxford College. It’s since been discontinued, but I think I was the only person there who wasn’t a corsetiere, and I learned so much (and saw lots of beautiful pieces!).

This thread has reminded me that later this month I'll be getting my hands on a stash of unused antique baleen bones, and I cannot wait to make three corsets comparing the performance of real baleen VS synthetic baleen VS steel

Today, if you want true luxury clothing, I think you have to get it from teeny tiny makers who have not yet expanded and (hopefully) have no interest in doing so. These places have no branding or luxury lifestyle marketing. They are often run by the maker and have small teams

Well I sort of made a 1950s ballgown, and it has confirmed that I hate making big garments and should just stick to knickers. Underwear is my lane, and I am totally fine with that

My brain has now latched on to a black/gold or silver/gold version of these corsets, very unhelpful given my obscene workload
