@VValtzy_ He’s saying this because Ari and Will over at Team Cherry stated in an interview they felt e33 would beat them, so they had no reason to be at the reward show (aside from being generally busy with Silksong updates). Geoff here is basically saying “see? You did win!”

If the Game Awards want to be taken seriously, Expedition 33 has to win GOTY. It didn’t just take players by storm—devs are praising it nonstop. Whether you like it or not, just like BG3 did, Expedition 33 proved you can make something incredible when the people behind it actually love what they’re making. It’s a wake-up call: games made with passion will always outshine games made out of greed.
