As an American citizen, I believe our elected officials should put American interests first, especially on foreign policy. The oath of office requires swearing to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic,” that should mean loyalty to this country above any other. When members of Congress openly prioritize foreign causes, like one member’s repeated focus on Palestine over domestic issues, or strong support for policies that are harmful to U.S. interests, it raises legitimate questions about divided loyalty. Naturalized citizens take an oath to renounce foreign allegiances, we should expect them to honor that in practice, not just on paper. From a generational American perspective, it’s reasonable to want immigration policies that preserve a clear American culture and identity, rather than rapid demographic change that shifts political power away from the historic American population. Stopping mass immigration, enforcing borders, and prioritizing assimilation so that new citizens truly become American in values, not just on paper. That keeps the focus on American sovereignty and your children’s future. We can learn from what is happening in Europe and take action to protect the future of America.
