Emily O’Brien reached a major milestone last night, surpassing 1,000 career points in Remington’s win over Chaparral. O’Brien has been a key piece of the Broncos’ lineup as they improved to 7–0 on the season. A true multi-sport standout, O’Brien was the 2A girls 100-meter hurdles state champion last spring as a junior and a Sports in Kansas 2A Player of the Year finalist last season. She has also signed to continue her athletic career at Northeastern State University, adding to an already impressive résumé. #sportsinkansas

SIK Preseason Player to Watch: Emily O’Brien enters her senior season at Remington as one of the most decorated multi-sport athletes anywhere in Class 2Al. A long-time standout for the Broncos, she’s coming off a junior campaign where she averaged 14 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists while earning first team all-league honors, first team all-2A from Sports in Kansas, and a spot as a SIK 2A Player of the Year finalist. She’s also one of the elite hurdlers in Kansas, winning the 100H state title last spring and finishing runner-up in the 300H. Emily gives Remington a true two-way anchor, scoring inside, facilitating in transition, and defending multiple positions. Signed with Northeastern State University, she’s stepping into her final year with confidence and a clear mission. “I’m really excited for the upcoming season and the chance to improve my skills. My main goal is to contribute positively to the team’s success, and I’m ready to work hard and support my teammates in every way possible. I believe that with dedication and teamwork, we can achieve great things this season.
