@HMRCcustomers Hello, just checking the up to date sort code and account no. for paying voluntary national insurance. My letter dated 2022 and the HMRC website have two different accounts so checking correct one... from a U.K. account to HMRC NIC receipts please?

@HMRCcustomers Okay, thank you, very confusing as this was the account given to me on a letter recently from HMRC about voluntary class 3 payments. What is this account for? I also haven’t been given a reference number, just told to use my National insurance number. Many thanks.

@EmilyRMWilliams If you are paying from a UK bank account then please see the above link. Make sure to enter the correct ref number so payment can get allocated. Thanks, Anas

@HMRCcustomers Thank you, yes that is the website I have looked at. But my letter says differently, that the HMRC sort code is 20 20 48 and account number 30944793..for paying with a U.K. account but when living abroad. Is this correct?

@HMRCcustomers It was submitted in paper form, for tax year 2021/2022. The paper form was received in October, spoke to a technician about an error when received an incorrect bill, amendment submitted and received early November, with December to complete. Getting worried now at delays.

@HMRCcustomers I was wondering how far behind HMRC are with self assessment tax forms? Submitted an amendment back in October 2022 (said to be completed in December) and nothing since...meanwhile late payment fines for the incorrect amount keep arriving 🙄

@EmilyRMWilliams Hi Emily, The system will still have the incorrect figure, but even if it doesn't get the amendment until after the 31st, any interest and penalties added would be cancelled. If you think you will be due to pay anything at all, pay that by Tuesday, otherwise just wait. Steve
