The HAF and HAF Plus programmes are relied upon throughout the school holiday periods each year by so many families, and losing such a programme would make a huge impact to their lives. Many organisations, have worked hard to support these families over the Christmas period (1/3)

As such, our policy and practice recommendations include increased HAF funding to support HAF clubs that lack material resources, national training in nutritional education, and evidence-informed guidance and practice @educationgovuk

We conducted a national survey of HAF clubs in England and found huge variety in the type and amount (hours) of nutritional education that is delivered, with some clubs not delivering any nutritional education at all - often related to available assets and resources (2/3)

Another graduation to celebrate having just completed the brilliant @couch_5k programme. I’ve never been a runner and I never thought I’d be able to run 5k. Loved the challenge and increasing my fitness each day. Feeling proud and would definitely recommend 🏃🏻‍♀️🏆#C25K #CouchTo5k

Delighted to have been involved in this timely and important co-design project on secondary school food. The report highlights the need for a whole school approach to food and includes many innovative suggestions made by the fantastic young people to tackle related challenges

Thrilled to see today’s King’s Speech commit to all primary schools in England providing free breakfast clubs to ensure that every child, no matter their circumstances, is prepared for the school day and can achieve their full potential. #KingsSpeech northumbria.ac.uk/takeontomorrow…

An excellent report to have contributed to regarding the school food system and levels of physical activity. Change is needed to tackle inequalities in children’s health and levels of food insecurity. The report includes important recommendations and implications for policy

Our academics have contributed to a new report - published by the @CfYoungLives - which calls for support for schools to fix the broken school food system & boost children’s physical activity to tackle childhood obesity and food insecurity. Read more: orlo.uk/5LyqJ
