The final speaker of the day is Brandy Harris, a Drury Alumni and the Executive officer of Boys and Girls Club. She says “Working here is different than anywhere else. You will actually get to see the difference in the lives of the children you’re impacting.” #druryunderground

Next up, the Marketing Representative from The Rainbow Network. She says “We need students to get out in the community. We plan to have you collecting donations for the children of Nicaragua.” #druryunderground

A member of the Watershed Committee of the Ozarks teaches the Summit Park students about the importance of native plants in Missouri watersheds. #druryunderground

The students are listening to presentations being given by each organization. They are intently taking notes to help them decide which nonprofit they would like to choose for their Summit Park volunteer project. #druryunderground

The next presentation is from Rachel Johnson, Director of Exhibits and Programs, of the Springfield Regional Arts Council. “My pitch to you would be the Volunteer Resource Management Project. We want to help track everyone’s volunteer hours with the arts.” #druryunderground

First up, a speaker from the International Institute of Southwest Missouri. Their main goal is taking in youth refugees to the Springfield area. They focus on interrupted education, to ensure every child gets the education they need to create a successful life. #druryunderground

Today in Summit Park Leadership class, students will be listening to presentations from local nonprofits around the Springfield area. Students will learn the importance of each organization and what their missions are. #druryunderground
