Speaking to my next door neighbour, she's just paid £20k to the care home where her lovely 87 year old husband now resides (dementia).This will cover the cost for 3 MONTHS.This is what happens when you've worked all your life, paid into the 'system' & never claimed a penny 🥺

@JaimeJMMcNab @NurseStandard Yes not sure how that would for us that are band 6s already. I have 19 years experience of being an RGN , don’t really feel that’s fair when I have all these years experience and then a NQN comes in at band 6. Surely they would need to develop the knowledge and skills first

@NurseStandard How would this work for existing B6s who hold significant experience and additional qualifications? Would there be uplift for them also? Then B7s etc…. This is bigger than NQN but about appropriate payment for all health and social care staff.

@alisonleary1 Absolutely agree. A CNS should be paid well and more than a band 6 for the specialist role they have and especially for the role in prescribing

Making a start on our staff wellbeing area this afternoon, recognising that staff don't always get out for a break away, need refreshments and quiet time to effectively manage their own wellbeing at work. Work in progress but cannot wait for the end results!
