I was truly delighted to meet the Governor of the Bank of Uganda, Rtn Dr Michael Atingi-Ego, and the Deputy Governor, Rtn Prof Augustus Nuwagaba. It was an inspiring and forward-looking conversation centered on strategic humanitarian initiatives where Rotary and the Central Bank can work together to create lasting impact.

Funds raised will support the construction of a health centre in Mbale and a primary school in Kasanje, projects that will improve access to healthcare and education for many families.
Thank you to everyone who showed up and supported. When Rotary gathers, joy and service go hand in hand.

Earlier today, I presided over the 14th Annual General Meeting of @qcil_uganda2 Staff Multipurpose Cooperative. I was encouraged by the members’ discipline and practical commitment to improving their lives. Their collective savings and mutual support build real resilience, helping with housing, education, and emergencies. Small, steady steps like these strengthen families and workplaces, and we know that the SACCO is a great tool for personal development.

Yesterday, I welcomed the incoming leadership of @RotaractD9213, led by District Rotaract Representative Elect Alex, to my office. We discussed their plans for 2026-2027, and I was inspired by their energy, vision, and commitment to service.
Listening to these young leaders affirmed what we already know: Rotaractors are leaders of today, not tomorrow. Their ideas and dedication make me proud and give me great optimism for the future of Rotary across Africa and beyond.
Happy Rotaract Week. keep serving, learning, and leading.

After nearly one week stranded in the UAE due to the ongoing conflict and closure of airspace, my wife Resty, our daughter Jackline and I miraculously managed to return home safely yesterday. For that, I am deeply grateful to the authorities in UAE who cleared our arranged exit.
Upon our return, I travelled straight to Western Uganda where I had the honour of presiding over the 40th Charter Celebration of the Rotary Club of Mbarara, the oldest club in the region.
The day began with another special moment launching a new Rotary club at Ntare School, one of Uganda’s most prestigious institutions. This historic school counts among its alumni H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Uganda and H.E. President Paul Kagame of Rwanda.
We look forward to this institutional club beginning with at least 80 members, a powerful start for a new generation of leaders.
What a meaningful way to mark a safe return home and to celebrate International Women’s Day through the continued expansion of Rotary’s impact.

One smile. One mission. One promise to the world.
For more than 40 years, Rotarians and Rotaractors around the world have been fighting to end polio. Together, we have helped vaccinate over 3 billion children. Polio cases have reduced by 99.9%, and today we are closer than ever to ending this disease for good.
Our smiles are not just for the photo. They show confidence, commitment, and hope. We know what can happen when Rotary takes action, and the world works together.
Until the last case is gone, until every child is safe, until polio becomes history, we will not stop.
End Polio Now.

This is the future of Rotary.
Bringing service closer to professionals, building communities of purpose, and making impact part of everyday life.
Growth. Relevance. Reach.
