I’ve been plus-sized my entire adult life and I’ve flown plenty of times without any issues. But today? Whew. I boarded my flight, got to my assigned seat, settled in, and thought it was gonna be a normal quick trip. Then the man assigned to sit next to me stopped dead in the aisle and refused to sit down. At first I thought maybe there was confusion about the seat number or something. Nope. This grown man started loudly arguing with the flight attendants because he didn’t want to sit beside me specifically. Loud enough for half the plane to hear. At one point he actually said, “I’m not sitting there with her body touching mine.” Mind you… this was a short flight. Barely enough time to finish a drink. The entire situation became so uncomfortable that boarding basically paused while he kept going back and forth with the crew trying to get moved. 2 flight supervisors stepped in, both Black women and I genuinely appreciate how professionally they handled it. From what I understood, he had already……

So this lady went under an anonymous post to tweet about how she needs advice on how to stop her husband from getting a DNA test for their four children and the husband saw the tweet. He then told his wife how some women are wicked, adding, “Thank goodness for my wife.” The next day he discussed it passively with his friends and one of them said, “What if that post was about you?” They all laughed, but he got so worried that he went ahead and did the test weeks later and boom. All four children came back negative. He wasn’t their father.
