An emotional day for Big Kev - and #Pompey deserve credit for handling it brilliantly. Wonderful to see so many former players and managers paying tribute on the big screen. Sean Raggett and Avram Grant were especially well greeted by fans. 👏👏👏👏

@Keir_Starmer You’ve taken away young people’s jobs in Hospitality. 120,000 redundancies since you formed a Govt, the vast majority are 18-24 year olds who would have a part time job to help them through college. It’s unforgivable.

Why did Farage run scared from news interviews today? It’s because there’s something fishy about the £5 million he took. And he knows it. He’s normally very happy to shout from a TV studio -as long as he controls the terms. The truth is that cash wasn’t for Reform. Watch👇

VAT in line with Europe. Right now the UK hospitality sector is carrying one of the highest VAT burdens in Europe. At 20% it simply does not stack up against the rest of the continent where lower rates support jobs, communities and local economies. Hospitality is closing at a rate of around 6 to 7 businesses every single day. That is pubs, cafés, restaurants and hotels disappearing from our high streets and towns. This is not just about business owners. It is about the 3+ million people who work in hospitality plus the millions more family members and friends connected to the sector. When hospitality struggles whole communities feel it. Cutting VAT in line with Europe would help bring down prices, support jobs, protect high streets and give this vital industry breathing room. Hospitality does not want handouts. It wants a fair playing field. It is time to reset the balance. #VATinLineWithEurope #CutVAT #Hospitality #taxedout #SupportHospitality @HospoVoices @wonky_table

Draw isn’t a bad result on paper but in the context of the game it reeks. Far too timid after scoring a crucial late goal. I like Blair but it felt like the wrong scenario to bring him on Feels like a loss tbh but depending on other results today it might be a point gained

Cross party request; this is not about politics this is about the survival of a industry - we are asking you to work together @UKLabour @Conservatives @LibDems @reformparty_uk to implement the below immediately. ——- We propose the implementation of our fully costed emergency VAT cut for hospitality to 13% for six months, at a cost of £3.5bn, funded using the fiscal headroom created last month. At the end of the six month period, we propose a cross party parliamentary review to properly assess the economic impact of the that #VatCut in line with Europe. If, as we believe, the cut reduces inflation, lowers the cost of living, protects hospitality businesses and keeps people in work - the reduction should be made permanent for the hospitality sector. Longer term, this can be funded through a balanced combination of fiscal headroom and a fair online sales tax, ensuring the high street and hospitality are no longer carrying a disproportionate tax burden. It is targeted, fully costed and economically sensible. #Hosptiality #CutVat #HospitalityVoices #TaxedOut Supported by @ntiaofficial @UKHofficial @BIIandBIIAB @wonky_table @CAMRA_Official @scothospgroup @HospoVoices @CampaignforPubs You can see the workings here; TheWonkyTable.co.uk Research endorsed by @IoH_Online

The elections are BACK on. This is where the parties currently stand. Now is time for all trade bodies to accept nothing less that a stance on 1) VAT (the most important) ‼️(every party has now had our proposal - so they cant say they don't know) 2) Rates (minimum of the 15% Cut for all Hospitality) 3) NI reversal (back to pre budget rate) 4) Duty Cut In Leaderboard. 1. @reformparty_uk are at 10% VAT (Wet&Dry), Rates Abolishment, NI Reversal, Duty cut 2. @LibDems are at 15% (Wet&Dry) VAT, Rates Reform, NI relief 3. @Conservatives only abolishment of Rates - NEED A POSITION ON VAT.... ?????? . . . . 4. @UKLabour Rates reliefs for pubs at 15% of a 76% uplift..... f***** the sector so far. All to play for and will keep the leaderboard updated. #Hospitality #TaxedOut #HospitalityVoices
